Less is more, a road should be understood through the design and not through a caption.
As a designer, the challenge is to create a suitable and sometimes innovative AutoCAD design within the regulations in which all users are taken into account. Because of the wide variety of projects I work on, I already think from the very first sketch line about what the outside will look like and, just as importantly, whether it can actually be built.
In addition to my work as a designer, I am also a safety auditor. When conducting safety audits, I don’t view the environment through a designer’s lens, but primarily from a human perspective. Can I see, understand, and intuitively respond to what the environment is asking of me? And just as importantly, do I actually want to?
Creating a well-designed public space is not something you do alone, which is why I enjoy working closely with my colleagues at Goudappel. As a true team player, I always strive to uncover the question behind the question.
